Mr Martin operated on me to remove a rare type of pituitary tumour in May 2017. I couldn't have wished to be in better hands. He spent a long time in the initial consultation explaining what was involved, answering my questions, and spelling out both the risks and benefits of surgery. Following this he made himself available for follow-up questions via email and was in contact over the phone again prior to the operation. On the day of surgery he spent time again going through the procedure before the surgery itself, following which he visited to check my progress late at night and again the next morning and again the following day, despite it being a Saturday. The operation itself was a success - I was able to eat within hours of waking and discharged from hospital after two days, rather than the five I had expected. Again Mr Martin was in touch afterwards to check on my progress. In short, with this type of operation I understand the greatest chance of success and minimal complications is the surgeon you have - and you couldn't wish to be in safer hands than Mr Martin. The fact he combines such great skills with an excellent manner and obvious care make him a rare surgeon and asset to the NHS indeed. (NB although I was a private patient I believe the only difference I got from his NHS patients was access to a private room in the hospital.)

Mr. Martin and his team saved me from paralysis. Without my operation I wouldn't be walking today, and I have Mr. Martin to thank. The care and professionalism shown to me throughout my time at St. George's was unbelievably brilliant, and I will be forever grateful to him and his wonderful team of surgeons.

Mr Andrew Martin removed a Pituitary tumour for me in 2016. I cannot praise his care of his patients, together with his professionalism, skills and overall attention that he gives. If you are refereed to Mr Martin, you have nothing to worry about - you are in good hands!
